Privacy Policy
Astrodai is built on strict data minimization and user autonomy. We collect only what is astronomically necessary to compute your birth chart, and we never monetize, resell, or feed your personal details into public AI model datasets.
1. Information We Collect
To compute an auditable birth chart, we collect only the necessary astrological parameters: your name, contact email address, birth date, exact birth time, and birth location. For relationship charts or multi-person readings, we ask for confirmation that you have obtained consent to compute details for each individual. A local draft of your form is stored in your personal browser localStorage so you do not lose progress if your tab reloads; you can clear this data at any time via the form controls.
2. Complete Privacy for Birth Place Searches
Unlike conventional web applications that send every keystroke of your birth city to third-party commercial geocoding APIs (such as Google Maps), Astrodai bundles an offline geographic gazetteer directly with the site. Derived from GeoNames under CC BY 4.0, the database is downloaded to your browser and searched in local memory. What you type into the birth place field is never transmitted to an external search provider.
3. Your Data Is Never Used to Train AI
We never send your name, birth details or reading to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or any other AI company for training their models. When you use our tools inside an AI app, the answer goes back to that app (see section 7). Your document is prepared locally on our verified computational servers using the Swiss Ephemeris. When you receive your Markdown file, you retain exclusive sovereign control to query the file with whichever private or local AI model you personally choose.
4. Payment Security and Encryption
All financial transactions are handled directly through PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant payment gateways (Razorpay for domestic Indian payments, and PayPal or Stripe for international USD transactions). Astrodai never sees, transmits, or stores your credit card numbers, CVV codes, or banking credentials. We receive only a unique transaction identifier, payment verification status, and timestamp.
5. How Long We Keep Your Details, and Erasure
We keep your birth details and your files only to make and deliver your order. We delete them 90 days after delivery. If an order is never paid, we delete it after 14 days.
Please keep your delivered file safe. After 90 days we no longer have a copy, so we cannot re-send it.
We keep a short invoice record (your name, email address and the amount paid) because tax law requires it.
You can ask us to erase your details sooner. Email support@astrodai.in and we will do it within 48 hours.
6. Cookies and Anti-Bot Verification
We do not use third-party behavioral advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels. We use privacy-preserving Cloudflare Turnstile verification on form submissions to prevent automated bot spam. Turnstile operates without setting persistent invasive tracking cookies across the web.
When you rate an article or file, we set one first-party cookie, astrodai_vid, holding a random id so a second rating from you updates the first instead of adding another. It is only sent to our rating endpoint, lasts one year, and we store a one-way hash of it, never your IP address or email.
7. AI Assistants and Plugins
You can use the free Astrodai tools inside an AI app such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Grok. When you ask for a chart, your AI app sends our tools what they need: the town name you are looking up, then your birth date, your local birth time and the town you chose from our town list. For a life area answer it also sends the area. For a panchang it sends a date, a place and, if you give one, a time. These details come from your AI app, not from a form on our site. Our answer goes back to your AI app, which shows it to you.
We use these details only to calculate the answer, and we do not store them. There is one exception. For the chart overview, life area and current chapter answers, we keep a one-way code (an HMAC) made from the birth details, so we can apply the fair-use limit of 3 answers per chart every 6 hours, shared by those three answers. The code is made with a secret key and does not contain your birth details. It expires 6 hours after the first answer, and a clean-up that runs every day deletes expired codes.
To keep the tools fair for everyone, we count calls from each network address. We keep a one-way code of the address, never the address itself: for an IPv4 address, the address; for an IPv6 address, its /64 block and the wider /48 block it sits in. Each count lasts one minute or one day, and a clean-up that runs every day deletes expired codes. We also keep a daily total of calls for the whole service, with nothing about who made them, for 3 days after that day ends.
When you pick a town, our tool gives your AI app a place code. It holds only the town's coordinates, time zone and name, with an expiry time: it stops working after 24 hours. We do not store it.
For each call, our tools write one log line: which tool, which AI app, whether it worked and how long it took. That line never includes birth details or network addresses.
Some answers include a link to astrodai.in/your-file/. The link carries a ref tag naming the AI app, for example ref=claude, and for some answers the life area or the birth time minutes from the answer. Your browser keeps the ref tag for that visit until you close the tab. If you then order a file, the order records which app you came from (claude, chatgpt, gemini, grok, web or other), so we can see which apps people find us through.
Your AI app's own privacy terms cover what it does with your conversation, including the details you type into it.
